American Battlefield Trust PARK DAY

  • Parker Lane Chattanooga, TN, 37419 United States (map)

Chickamauga and Chattanooga NMP will lead volunteers in clearing brush and debris to create a trail to Captain Micheal Wiedrich's 1st New York Battery located on Bald Hill as part of the Battle of Lookout Mountain. Park Historian Jim Ogden will give a brief overview of the battery and its role in the Battle of Lookout Mountain on November 25, 1863.

The park will provide all tools and PPE. If volunteers would like to bring their own gloves, they are welcome to do so. A water bottle and lite snacks are recommended. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and for working outdoors. Sturdy footwear is required as the terrain is hilly and undulating.
