SUP with Sherman - NPP Fundraiser

  • Greenway Farms 5051 Gann Store Road Hixson, TN, 37343 United States (map)

Enjoy a guided paddleboard tour through history with Dr. Greg Grant, outdoor enthusiast and board member of National Park Partners. Participants will paddle stable, inflatable paddle boards from Greenway Farm along beautiful North Chickamauga Creek for 1-mile. Along the journey, we will re-discover the site where Union General William T. Sherman launched 116 pontoon boats to begin his movement towards Missionary Ridge. As we paddle the quiet creek, we will pass the TVA Big Ridge Small Wild Area with interesting eroded limestone cliffs, the rock quarry used by TVA in the construction of Chickamauga Dam and you're likely to spot great blue herons, kingfishers, turtles and other wildlife along the way.

This 2-hour, guided and equipped paddleboard tour is perfect for beginner and intermediate paddlers, ages 16 and up who want a unique adventure on one of Chattanooga’s scenic waterways while giving back to the National Park Partners. You don't have to be an experienced paddler to participate in this adventure. Everyone receives paddling instruction, water safety information and will be properly outfitted for adventure before setting out for a leisurely-paced and peaceful paddle on the creek. Guides will provide on-water support throughout the duration of this historical tour. Click HERE for more info and to reserve your spot!
