Cherokee Warriors: Explore the History of the Legendary Warrior Spirit That Connects Generations of Cherokee

  • Brown’s Ferry Federal Road Trail (map)

Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park invites the public to participate in a special 1-hour, ranger-led program exploring the history of Cherokee warriors. This program will be held at the terminus of the Brown’s Ferry Federal Road Trail, a short 0.60-mile hike from the trailhead located at 700 Moccasin Bend Road. Participants should plan to add additional time to make it to the program site on time. Participants are also encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and can bring a packable chair for sitting.

The reputation of the Cherokee warrior is nothing short of legendary. The warrior culture and spirit of Cherokee society goes back to before the beginning of recorded written history. For generations, Cherokee men and women have answered the call to defend their homeland and their country. They have served in every branch of the military and on battlefields around the world. Come hear stories of their service and sacrifice.
