SUP with Sherman - Afternoon Tour

  • North Chickamauga Creek 5051 Gann Store Road Hixson, TN, 37343 United States (map)

Take a journey through history during a guided paddle adventure on North Chickamauga Creek while supporting National Park Partners! Led by Dr. Greg Grant, an outdoor enthusiast and board member of National Park Partners, the small group (limited to 10 participants) will paddle stable, inflatable paddleboards from Greenway Farm along beautiful North Chickamauga Creek for 1-mile. This tour is designed for beginner and intermediate level paddlers - no experience required!

Along the journey, we will re-discover the site where Union General William T. Sherman launched 116 pontoon boats to begin his movement towards Missionary Ridge. As we paddle the quiet creek, we will pass the TVA Big Ridge Small Wild Area with interesting eroded limestone cliffs, the rock quarry used by TVA in the construction of Chickamauga Dam and you're likely to spot great blue herons, kingfishers, turtles and other wildlife along the way.

Your ticket includes all paddleboard equipment, instruction, guided history tour, plus a donation to National Park Partners. This is a great way to get outside and give back to our local National Park!
